MEET LENA ISAKSSON

MEET LENA ISAKSSON

Meet Lena — mom to our social media manager Thilda, and living proof that style has no age limit. She’s turning 60 next year (and honestly, 60 is the new 50), but you’d never guess it from the way she dresses. Because really, who decided mini skirts should come with an age restriction? Ridiculous.

Lena is one of those endlessly creative souls. She reworks old pieces into something completely new (that beige skirt below? It used to be an anorak). She also makes her own clothes from scratch — like the purple skirt and the top/vest.

We’ve told her she has to start posting more of her creations (and she’s promised to share her upcoming projects). In the meantime, go follow her (@lenaisak) for a heavy dose of inspo.

And, of course, whenever we shoot inspiring women, we always sneak in a few questions…

When putting together a look, what part do shoes play in your style?

That’s the most important thing! The shoes complete an outfit.

What’s the most “you” outfit you’ve ever worn?

Short dress or skirt, high heels, an oversized leather jacket or blazer (most likely borrowed from my husband). Lots of bold, chunky jewelry.

Any go-to style rituals or golden rules you swear by when putting together a look?

I usually start with the shoes, then pick my clothes based on the vibe of the day. After that, I stack one some jewelry. “Less is more” is definitely not for me!

What’s your relationship with trends and how do they influence (or not influence) your wardrobe choices?

I’ve always been interested in fashion and trends, but I like adding my own personal touch to them.

If you could swap closets with anyone for a week, who would it be?

Carrie Bradshaw — feminine and playful. She’s not afraid to be seen.

One style, FW25. Which Blankens piece are you claiming?

The Joan High Rust Zebra — a shoe that makes a statement and elevates even the simplest outfit.
