Like all Blankens shoes, The Alva is handmade in a small, family-run factory in northern Portugal, powered by solar energy. Crafted from Gold Rated Leather Working Group European leather, it reflects our commitment to responsible sourcing, durability, and thoughtful craftsmanship. The leather is PFAS-free and chosen to age beautifully with wear.

The Alva is a women’s leather ankle boot in tactile ostrich embossed leather. It features a clean, rounded almond-shaped toe and a structured shaft that sits neatly at the ankle. Subtle stitched detailing adds character without decoration. The boot is set on a stable, low block heel and finished with a durable rubber-mix sole for everyday grip and comfort. A discreet side zipper and elastic piece allows for easy entry while keeping the silhouette clean and uninterrupted.

By cleaning, conditioning, and protecting the leather, you preserve its suppleness, prevent cracks, and maintain its natural shine. Think of it as skincare — for your most trusted companions. We recommend using a protective spray, such as the Water Proofer, before first wear and reapply regularly to guard against moisture and stains.
Don't forget the inside. Refresh the insole by cleaning it with The Foam Cleaner.
We recommend storing them in a cool, dry place when not in use, with a shoe tree or paper stuffing to maintain shape. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct heat.
The inner sole length is measured from heel to toe. Add a bit of extra space for the feet. For shoes with a pointed toe, keep in mind that your foot will not extend all the way into the pointed end.
