Crafted in soft leather with a cushioned feel underfoot, The Palermo offers comfort from the very first step. Like all Blankens shoes, it is made by hand in a small, family-run factory in northern Portugal. The leather is European, Gold Rated Leather Working Group certified, and PFAS free — chosen for its softness, durability, and responsible sourcing. The sole is made from a durable rubber mix, giving flexibility and grip while keeping the shoe light and easy to wear.
At Blankens, we are a small group of women designing shoes for our own lives. We test every style ourselves — walking in them, traveling in them, and wearing them through real days and nights. Each shoe is designed to have a clear purpose, solve a real wardrobe need, and earn its place over time.
The Palermo is a women's flat leather sandal in black with a wide toe-covering upper, a slingback heel, and a bold circular gold buckle at the side. A discreet side elastic ensures an easy slip-on fit without visible adjustment. It features a smooth leather upper, a softly padded insole for comfort, and a low-profile rubber mix sole for flexibility and stability. The structured silhouette makes it equally suited for everyday summer wear and elevated occasions such as parties and weddings.

By cleaning, conditioning, and protecting the leather, you preserve its suppleness, prevent cracks, and maintain its natural shine. Think of it as skincare — for your most trusted companions. We recommend using a protective spray, such as the Water Proofer, before first wear and reapply regularly to guard against moisture and stains.
Don't forget the inside. Refresh the insole by cleaning it with The Foam Cleaner.
We recommend storing them in a cool, dry place when not in use, with a shoe tree or paper stuffing to maintain shape. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct heat.
The inner sole length is measured from heel to toe. Add a bit of extra space for the feet. For shoes with a pointed toe, keep in mind that your foot will not extend all the way into the pointed end.
