THIS IS BLANKENS
Blankens was launched in 2014 after Cecilia Blankens, a Swedish fashion journalist and entrepreneur, recognized a need for stylish women’s shoes that are sustainably designed and produced, at a decent and fair price point.
She travelled to Portugal to find the right partners to team up with, among the rich culture of craftsmanship and shoe design that have been a part of Portugal’s DNA for generations.
Cecilia Blankens:
I want Blankens to be a one-stop shoe shop for women. We’ve got everything you need, from boots and flats to heels and sandals. We aim for classic, yet never boring, designs, with details and materials that make every passionate shoe lover’s heart beat a little faster.
We keep our prices reasonable by selling mainly via our webshop and a few carefully selected retailers.
Blankens is an independent, women owned and women run company. We believe profit comes when you have a great idea and do your job right, but shouldn't be the main priority in any business.
We always strive to improve and to keep our customers happy and we seem to be doing that pretty well – we've been growing as a company and building a loyal base of customers ever since launching our first pair of shoes in 2014 (a ballerina called The Isabell, named after Cecilia Blankens’ stylish grandmother).
