The Matilda Brown Leather

The Matilda combines the pointed silhouette of a heel with a comfortable fit. Its shape is widest where your foot needs room, creating ease without compromising the elegant look. Designed by Blankens in Stockholm and produced in Portugal, The Matilda is crafted using responsibly sourced leather from European tanneries rated by the Leather Working Group. Each pair is made in a small, family-run factory with long experience in traditional shoemaking. The focus is on balance — between structure and softness, durability and refinement — resulting in a boot built to last both in construction and style.

Team Blankens created The Matilda from our own wardrobes and real lives. As women designing for women, we wanted a heel that could keep up: long workdays, walking between meetings, dinners that stretch into evenings. The Matilda is a favorite because it feels reliable without feeling boring — sharp enough to elevate an outfit, comfortable enough to forget you’re wearing heels at all.

The boot is crafted in smooth brown leather with a clean, refined finish that enhances its sculptural shape while remaining soft on the foot. Elastic side panels allow easy entry and add flexibility to the fit. Lined in smooth leather for comfort and breathability. Set on a stable, well-balanced heel and finished with a Tunit sole, designed to support everyday wear while maintaining a sleek, confident profile.

Fits true to size. If you have a high instep, prefer more room or wear thicker socks, consider sizing up. The soft leather molds to the foot with wear.

We use only European leather from tanneries rated Gold by the Leather Working Group. The upper is made from deep brown leather with dark brown elastic side panels. Its deep shade shifts between brown and near-black, making it easy to pair with everything from black to earthy tones. Lined in soft beige leather. Set on a durable, flexible Tunit sole with a leather-covered heel.

Treat your shoes to make them last longer! Regular care keeps your shoes beautiful, soft, and strong. By cleaning, conditioning, and protecting the leather, you preserve its suppleness, prevent cracks, and maintain its natural shine. Think of it as skincare — for your most trusted companions. A small ritual that makes a big difference, keeping your Blankens favorites fresh and ready for every season.

We recommend using a protective spray, such as the Water Proofer, before first wear and reapply regularly to guard against moisture and stains.

Condition the leather regularly with shoe cream to keep it soft and prevent drying and to maintain color and finish. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt and keep them looking fresh.

Don't forget the inside. Refresh the insole by cleaning it with The Foam Cleaner.

We recommend storing them in a cool, dry place when not in use, with a shoe tree or paper stuffing to maintain shape. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct heat.

The inner sole length is measured from heel to toe. Add a bit of extra space for the feet. For shoes with a pointed toe, keep in mind that your foot will not extend all the way into the pointed end.

How to use these measurements
Insole length is measured from heel to toe. Leave a little room at the front: boots may feel more comfortable with a little extra space, while loafers usually fit best with less. Pointed styles extend beyond where the toes sit, so the pointed tip does not provide extra room for the toes. If you are between sizes, a thin insole can help create a half-size. For closed heels, a half insole can fine-tune the fit.
