The Milou Black Leather

The Milou brings 1970s character to the modern wardrobe. Inspired by a vintage Dior boot, its striking silhouette, balanced heel and subtle platform create height with a comfortable feel. Smooth black leather keeps it refined, while the rounded toe adds easy appeal. Pair it with wide-leg trousers for work, a short skirt and tights on weekends, or a favourite dress for dinner. Like all Blankens shoes, The Milou is crafted by hand in a small, family-run factory in northern Portugal. We use European leather sourced from Gold Rated Leather Working Group tanneries, ensuring high quality, responsible sourcing, and a lower environmental impact.

The Milou is a women’s heeled leather ankle boot made in smooth black leather with a softly rounded toe and a slightly elevated platform. The design features a stable block heel, a clean ankle-high shaft, and a side zipper for easy entry. The leather upper has a subtle sheen and is paired with a leather lining for comfort. A flexible Tunit sole provides a durable, comfortable finish. Inspired by a 1970s boot silhouette, The Milou balances vintage character with modern proportions.

Fits true to size for narrow to regular feet. If you have wider feet or a high instep, consider sizing up. If the leather feels snug at first, it will soften and stretch with wear.

We use only European leather from tanneries rated Gold by the Leather Working Group. The upper is smooth black leather. It has a leather lining, a Tunit sole and a leather-covered heel.

Treat your shoes to make them last longer! Regular care keeps your shoes beautiful, soft, and strong. By cleaning, conditioning, and protecting the leather, you preserve its suppleness, prevent cracks, and maintain its natural shine. Think of it as skincare — for your most trusted companions. A small ritual that makes a big difference, keeping your Blankens favorites fresh and ready for every season.

We recommend using a protective spray, such as the Water Proofer, before first wear and reapply regularly to guard against moisture and stains.

Condition the leather regularly with shoe cream to keep it soft and prevent drying and to maintain color and finish. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt and keep them looking fresh.

The Milou has a leather-covered sole, which gives the shoe its refined look but also makes it more sensitive to moisture. Try to avoid wearing them in wet conditions. For extra protection, we recommend applying a leather wax to the platform sole to help protect the material and extend the life of the shoe.

Don't forget the inside. Refresh the insole by cleaning it with The Foam Cleaner.

We recommend storing them in a cool, dry place when not in use, with a shoe tree or paper stuffing to maintain shape. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct heat.

The inner sole length is measured from heel to toe. Add a bit of extra space for the feet. For shoes with a pointed toe, keep in mind that your foot will not extend all the way into the pointed end.

How to use these measurements
Insole length is measured from heel to toe. Leave a little room at the front: boots may feel more comfortable with a little extra space, while loafers usually fit best with less. Pointed styles extend beyond where the toes sit, so the pointed tip does not provide extra room for the toes. If you are between sizes, a thin insole can help create a half-size. For closed heels, a half insole can fine-tune the fit.
